Pimelodus blochii is a species of catfish related to the popular Spotted Pim, P. pictus; other than appearance, they are essentially the same in terms of care and disposition. They get large enough to eat small fishes such as Neon Tetras or Guppies, and can bother particularly shy and slow fish with their high activity level, but otherwise they make good additions to mid-to-large sized community tanks. Bright light may make them hide during daylight hours so floating plants are often appreciated.
