Puntius titteya is a small and extremely hardy barb from Sri Lanka. These are among the most peaceful of barbs and are well suited to a laid-back community tank with similarly peaceful species. Males are reddish, intensifying to a deep scarlet when they are ready to spawn. Females are a more muted copper colour but are still quite beautiful in their own right; having them around is also necessary to make males show their deepest red colour.
These are juveniles around 0.5" long. There should be both males and females available; they have yet to develop much colour and are still largely brown.
