Leaf litter gradually breaksdown adding nutrients to the substrate and sustaining healthy populations of microfauna such as springatils and isopods. These not only provide  a source of food for many viviarium inhabitants but also iaid in keeping the vivarium clean. Big Bites Oak leaf litter is collected from chemical free areas and is thoroughly washed prior to packaging.
